Dalphega's Cradle

Delphega's Cradle is a sector defined around a cluster of stars loosely arranged within 30 LY of the black hole Lolth's Folly. It is located at the rim of the former Imperial frontier.
It is divided in several subsectors :
Surrounding sectors :
Since most ships are, at best, equipped with a Grade-2 Spike Drive, the sector depends on a number of predictable trade routes.
To the "west" and "north", there are easy bridgeheads with neighbouring sectors. They are all controlled by the Chi Draconis government, which jealously keeps its charts and rutters for its own merchant navy, in effect upholding a trade monopoly.
To the "east" and especially the scattered "south", however, there are no known bridgeheads that can be crossed with postech Spike Drives.
This, to any traveler unwilling to board a Chi Draconis ship and leave their own behind, the sector is effectively isolated from the rest of the frontier - though it doesn't prevent a few brave souls from trying to chart and drill courses that inevitably end in disaster.
Anomalies :
Delphega's Cradle is a sector defined around a cluster of stars loosely arranged within 30 LY of the black hole Lolth's Folly. It is located at the rim of the former Imperial frontier.
It is divided in several subsectors :
- Caleston Sigma : Behind the dreaded Caleston Tear, a beacon of civilization lights the way for a hostile, barbarian sector. The Caleston Sigma subsector contains the world Chi Draconis, one of the most prosperous polities to emerge from the Silence, and boasts a high population and trade with several other worlds.
- Sea of Shadows : Ripped apart by the Caleston Tear, the worlds of the Sea of Shadow are full of mysteries. Hiveminds, feral worlds, unbraked AIs, tomb planets - the Sea of Shadows attracts the occult, but few ever resurface.
- The Rift : A frontier subsector ekeing out an existance on the fringes of known space, the Rift is home to the system Bytha and many other lesser worlds overshadowed by the Unbidden drider fleet forever imprinted on the blackness of the subsector's black hole. Trade is still shy, but opportunities await and fortune favours the bold.
- The Ultima Cluster : Beyond the pirate world Nephene, a scattering of tribal worlds and death cults plot and scheme the demise of the remainder of the subsector.
- The Shriking Abyss : In reality a green-hued, gloomy nebula, the subsector is home to the hardy people of Dimos. Trade and communications from the Abyss are rare, for the few bridgeholds refuse most offworlder traffic and the locals are about as inviting as a black hole's accretion disk - yet to those looking for commerce and opportunity, the Abyss is waiting and ever growing.
- The Gemini Frontier : While Dalphega's Cradle is on the rim of known space, it is also the start of a bubble of strikingly low stellar density. Very few star systems exist there, so widely spread apart that they remain uncharted and off the Codex - almost literally off the map.

Anomalies :
- The Rift : +2 modifier to navigation difficulty checks; however ships travel twice as far as they normally would in the same amount of time.
- The Caleston Tear : Separating Caleston Sigma, the Sea of Shadows and the Rift from each other, the Tear is a metadimensional rip in the fabric of the Void. +5 to all difficulty checks, and the usefulness of rutters charting paths through the Tear degrades twice as fast.
