Bounty Hunter Chronicles - Flight of the Ravana
Chapter One - 1842.0215
Prolo[g]ue
Somewhere on Halruaa, a beginner bounty hunter (Drizoyn Claddar) and his associate, a highly skilled pilot (Molrae Aleval) have been contracted to "clear out" illegal occupants of a warehouse on the edge of Natha Nar, the capital of the Mandate. After crashing into the parking lot, taking out a few associates and scaring themselves over a malfunctioning repair bot. Everything turns out allright when they infiltrate the facility, and realise they've stumbled in a Golden Dawn warehouse. A hostage, a psychic Khddari named Praises-Through-Deed held prisoner for science purposes is rescued and joins the team.
Once the bounty recovered for their clearing of the warehouse, the three hunters fly to the Natha Nar spaceport. The collapse of the Golden Dawn is promised by the government, who take credit for the raids on their warehouse. On their way, they access the Repository, a Bythan website set up for bounty hunters to legally carry out bounties and other missions. The mission seems easy : retrieve stolen cargo and deliver it in orbit to its rightful owners. The trio is joined by Kalaneyl, a hardass bounty hunter who has been chasing the cargo for weeks.
The plan seems easy : wait for the ship, a frigate called the Ravana, to dock at the spaceport, then infiltrate it and disable its occupants. On the spaceport, a rather laid-back slime rancher who lives on the outskirts of Bythan society, Samoth, is looking for spare parts when he gets caught up in the middle of the commotion, and on board the Ravana, smuggled on a cargo crate.
The gamble pays off : the team of now five people disables the ship's captain and tranquilizes its crew, before meeting up in orbit with the cargo's rightful owners. Happy to get rid of such troublesome business, they get their pay out, surrender the captives, before flying out. The Ravana is now theirs - a golden opportunity to start anew.
Molrae becomes the ship's star pilot and mechanic, while Samoth takes up hydroponics. Praises is happy to meditate in the sickbay. Soon agreements on running the ship are reached.
While Kalaneyl sheds some of his hardass attitude to pet the ship's Carbuncle, Drizoyn and Molrae, having agreed to work with the rest of their group, once more reach out to the Repository for more jobs. Back on Natha Nar, a psycker needs one of his students...retrieved.
The ethics are somewhat off, but the job pays out...
